History of Europe

What was great policy toward Germany that based on the belief satisfaction of reasonable demands would maintain peace in Europe?

The policy of appeasement was based on the belief that satisfying the reasonable demands of Germany would maintain peace in Europe. This policy was pursued by the British and French governments in the 1930s, in an attempt to avoid war with Germany. However, appeasement ultimately failed, as Germany continued to make territorial demands and eventually invaded Poland in 1939, starting World War II.
