What did nationalists in Germany want to do?

German nationalists sought to unify the German states into a single nation-state, known as Greater Germany or the Second Reich. They aimed to promote national unity, strength, and pride, often with a strong emphasis on German culture, history, and ethnic identity. The nationalist movement in Germany gained significant momentum in the 19th century, leading to the eventual unification of Germany under the leadership of Otto von Bismarck in 1871.
