agricultural revolution

Agricultural revolution changes lifestyle (c. 6000 BC - Greece)

In the Middle East, farmers who had pioneered sedentary life and cereal cultivation are now raising a wide variety of domestic animals, sheep, goats and cattle. They have been traveling to the Balkans, through Anatolia, in search of fertile land and good pastures.

Nomadic Hunters

Their ancestors, nomads who lived on hunting and plant food, seasonally followed herds of wild animals and harvested the cereals they found along the way. Later, they began to settle in fertile regions. Over time, they learned to grow their own cereals:they cleared the ground, planted seeds and harvested them. There was plenty of land, so they tilled each area until the soil was exhausted.
