Mont Lassois | ancient site, France

Mont Lassois , location of large Celtic fortifications near Châtillon-sur-Seine in Department Côte-d'Or , France . The hilltop fortress of Vix on the mountain. Lassois seems to have been the center of widespread political authority and extensive commercial relations, particularly in the 6th century BC Christ . The rich Celtic and Greek found there Artifacts as well as the nearby tumulus burials near the villages of Vix and Sainte-Colombe-sur-Seine indicate one frequent exchange of trade and gifts not only between the Celts themselves, but also between Celts and Greeks through the port of Massalia (today Marseille).
