What did metis use as their houses?

The Metis people typically used tipis, also known as teepees, as their houses. These portable dwellings were well-suited for the nomadic lifestyle of the Metis, who often travelled long distances in search of food, hunting grounds, or trade opportunities. Tipis were made from animal skins, such as buffalo or deer hides, which provided insulation and protection from the elements. They were also easy to set up and take down, making them highly practical for the Metis' mobile way of life.
