General Condition

Wat Kalothai is an abandoned ancient site. It is located outside the ancient city walls of Kamphaeng Phet on the east side. It is about 200 meters from the moat to the east, 1.3 kilometers from the Ping River to the east. Currently, it is within the district of Mueang Kamphaeng Phet and Mueang Kamphaeng Phet Municipality.

Geological conditions

The soil is sandy and has a layer of river sediment sand. Because this area was originally a plain on the banks of the Ping River. Later, the Ping River became shallow due to the deposition of sand sediments and sandy soil, thus forming a plain around this Kamphaeng Phet town.

Wat Kalothai is an abandoned ancient site. It is located outside the city wall of Kamphaeng Phet on the east side. The main building of the temple consists of a rectangular viharn. The main chedi in the shape of a bush of rice is made of bricks and laterite. It can be said that the chedi is in the shape of a bush of Kalothai Temple. It is probably a contemporary ancient site with Nakhon Chum and is older than other buildings. On the city side of Kamphaeng Phet (The Fine Arts Department 2009 :72)
