Wat Phra That is an abandoned temple. Located in the middle of the ancient city of Kamphaeng Phet on the east side of Wat Phra Kaew. Currently in Kamphaeng Phet municipality and in Mueang Kamphaeng Phet district.

Geological conditions

The soil is sandy and has a layer of river sediment sand. Because this area was originally a plain on the banks of the Ping River. Later, the Ping River became shallow due to the deposition of sand sediments and sandy soil, thus forming a plain around this Kamphaeng Phet town.

Wat Phra That is located in the center of Kamphaeng Phet, to the east of Wat Phra Kaew. The plan of the temple area is rectangular. The walls of the temple are made of laterite and bricks. Important buildings within the temple line the east-west axis in front of a laterite sanctuary. Behind the viharn is the main chedi in the shape of a bell, bricks are in perfect condition. There is a rectangular winding balcony surrounding the main chedi. The crooked balcony is connected to the base of the temple. The end of the sanctuary entered a crooked balcony. In front of the base of the viharn are two brick bell-shaped chedi. The bell-shaped chedi of Wat Phra That is located on an octagonal base that is stacked in several layers until the chedi is tall. Organized as a specific style of Kamphaeng Phet (The Fine Arts Department 2009 :67 - 68)
