The Kurds are not the largest ethnic group in southwest Asia. The largest ethnic group in southwest Asia is the Arabs, who make up over 200 million people and are concentrated in the Arabian Peninsula and the Levant. The Kurds are the fourth largest ethnic group, after the Arabs, Persians, and Turks, and are estimated to number around 30 million people. They are spread out across an area spanning parts of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Armenia.
