History of North America

When did Native Americans plant their crops?

The exact timing of crop planting by Native Americans varied depending on the tribe, location, and climate. However, in general, Native Americans planted their crops in the spring and summer months. This was done in order to take advantage of the warm weather and longer daylight hours, which were necessary for the plants to grow. In some cases, Native Americans would also plant crops in the fall, which allowed them to harvest a second crop before the winter months.
