History of North America

After the Spanish-American War gained limited independence?

The Spanish-American War did not result in limited independence for any country. As a consequence of the war, Spain relinquished control over Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines to the United States. Puerto Rico and Guam continue to be U.S. territories, and the Philippines gained full independence in 1946. Cuba gained nominal independence in 1902, but it was still subject to significant American influence and did not become a fully sovereign state until after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.
