Who were the abkani indians?

The Abkani Indians were a Native American tribe that lived in the present-day state of California, United States. They spoke the Athabascan language and were closely related to the Yuki and Wappo tribes. The Abkani people lived in small villages along the Eel River and its tributaries. They were skilled fishermen and hunters and gathered acorns, nuts, and berries. The Abkani people also practiced a form of basket weaving that was unique to their tribe.
